Kia Motors America (Kia) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Sorento Hybrid and 2022 Sorento Plug-in Hybrid vehicles. In the event of a crash, the front driver-side and/or passenger-side seat belt pretensioner(s) may explode upon deployment. An exploding seat belt pretensioner can project metal fragments into the vehicle, striking vehicle occupants and resulting in injury.
Remedy: Dealers will secure the seat belt pretensioners with a cap, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 19, 2022. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia’s number for this recall is SC241. This recall expands and replaces NHTSA recall number 22V-127. Vehicles already repaired under the previous recall will need to have the new remedy completed.
In a perfect world a motorist would be able to simply ask what the cost of vehicle insurance would be, but the truth of the matter is that there is no set price for vehicle policies and the premiums charged by each company for each driver can be quite different. In fact, one motorist may be pay hundreds or even thousands of dollars less than another driver for the same exact product. This is because many factors come into account that alter the rate a carrier must charge to insure particular motorists and vehicles.
The best way for an individual to find out how much is car insurance is by contacting a company or agent and obtain a rate quote. But one must be aware that each carrier has a different set of rates based on previous profits and losses, experience with specific classes of drivers, and claims specific to certain geographical areas as well as other factors. Therefore, in order to find the most accurate estimate of what an vehicle policy would cost, it would be best for a motorist to get price quotes from a number of various insurers. The prices will likely differ with each carrier, but by obtaining quotations a consumer will be able to see what a reasonable rate would be and what may seem exorbitant.
Check your vehicle’s safety & security rating.
Before you buy a new or used car, you may want to check into insurance costs first. Many companies now offer a discount for vehicles with higher safety and crash test ratings. Cars that are expensive to repair or are favorite targets for thieves also have much higher insurance costs.
Some of the Typically Rating Factors that Impacting Cost
- Marital Status
- Driving Record
- Where you live
- what type of car you drive
- How much you drive and for what purpose.
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage (UM)
It pays (up to the coverage limit) the insured person and other passengers in the vehicle when they’re injured as the result of an accident where the at-fault driver is uninsured, underinsured or a hit-and-run. This also comes in a second form – UMPD – to cover damage to your vehicle if hit by an uninsured or underinsured driver. However, most people do not purchase the second form because they carry collision and comprehensive coverage
The time has come for a driver to purchase an vehicle insurance policy, and they don’t know where to start. Luckily finding coverage in Tennessee is typically pretty easy. What is slightly more challenging is finding a policy that is not only affordable, but also offers the right kind of protection. A driver should have some basic understanding of what degree of protection they will need based off of their income, driving habits, and type of car they drive; though naturally, there are many other factors that may change what a motorist will be looking for. The next step is usually to look in to getting a series of online quotes.
Finding the right Tennessee vehicle insurance means knowing what specific types of coverage a motorist must have. The Volunteer State, like many others, has a series of requirements that must be met when purchasing a plan. Tennessee’s Financial Responsibility laws were first implemented in 1977 which required that motorists have to carry documentation proving that they will be able to accept financial responsibility for damages which they may cause in an vehicle accident in which a person or persons were injured. In addition to this, drivers must also have at least $25,000 worth of Bodily Injury Liability (BI) coverage per person, and $50,000 BI for an accident as a whole. Additionally, policyholders must carry $15,000 worth Property Damage (PD) liability to cover the property damages of another party that may have occurred during an vehicle accident. Typically, this entire array of requirements can be abbreviated as 25/50/15.
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 1998 Audi A8 and 1997-1998 Audi A4 vehicles equipped with Non-Azide Driver air bag Inflators (NADI) that do not contain phase stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSAN) propellant. Due to a manufacturing issue, the NADI inflator may absorb moisture, causing the inflator to explode or the air bag cushion to underinflate. The inflator could explode during air bag deployment, resulting in metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants. An underinflated air bag may not properly protect the occupant. These scenarios increase the risk of serious injury or death.
Dealers will replace the driver’s air bag inflator with an alternative inflator of a different design, free of charge. Owner notification letters were sent September 21, 2021. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi’s number for this recall is 69BT. The vehicles in this recall were mistakenly omitted from recall 20V-056. All vehicle owners have already been notified by mail and informed that the remedy is available.
Factors Driving Up Teen Vehicle Insurance Costs – Online Vehicle Insurance
When a teenager first gets their license they’re often filled to the brim with excitement, eager to explore the open road; meanwhile, their parents nervously chew on their fingernails. But before they can jump behind the wheel, like most drivers, they need to be insured. Teens may be alarmed to find out, however, that insurance rates for young adults are often considerably higher than other age groups. This is because people from the age of 16 to 19 are often considered high risk drivers, and are more likely to be involved in an vehicle accident than any other category of people.
If rates are higher when purchasing car insurance for teenagers it is simply because statistics show that they are considerably more dangerous while driving. In 2009 roughly 3,000 teenagers in the United States between the ages of 15 and 19 were killed, while over 350,000 others were treated in emergency rooms for injuries sustained from vehicle accidents. Young drivers ages 15-24 account for nearly 30% of the total cost of vehicle related injuries among males, amounting to nearly $19 billion dollars, and nearly 28% of total medical costs from vehicle related injuries among females, which is about $7 billion dollars. Teenagers are also far less likely to wear seat belts than adults, and in 2008 roughly 3 of every 4 youths killed in an vehicle accident as a result of drinking and driving was not wearing the proper restraints. Insurers will often asses all of these risks when calculating premiums, and with these statistics it is obvious why rates are increased for younger drivers.
A motorist with a higher potential for danger might be able to find suitably cheaper coverage by utilizing the same research techniques as any other motorist. Doing a thorough quote comparison could give a vehicle owner the opportunity to gauge the range of prices which are available, as well as the knowledge of which particular companies may cater to drivers with elevated risks.
In order to aid in searching for coverage despite one’s record, there are certain state departments such as the Texas Department of Insurance which release guides detailing how to obtain auto insurance for high risk drivers in order to ensure that all drivers are still given the option of obtaining coverage. Although more effort may be required in finding a provider that offers cheap policies to riskier motorists, doing so is still entirely possible.
A motorist might be able to secure a cheap rate by choosing to purchase insurance from a company which focuses on drivers that are considered risky to insure. These companies often cater to motorists with poor driving records, young or new drivers, and people with bad credit who may not be able to find coverage elsewhere.
In the event that a provider simply cannot be found, there are some states which have an assigned risk system which means that a motorist may be assigned to a company by the state. Being labeled with having a high probability of being involved in an accident does not mean that one is doomed to have an expensive policy or is entirely unable to find the proper coverage; it simply means that in order to find a company which would be willing to take on such a motorist may be more difficult. Through various quote comparisons, research, and a fair amount of effort, these motorists may be capable of finding cheap car coverage.
online vehicle insurance quotes: Practically every consumer, whether newly licensed or seasoned behind the wheel will likely benefit from comparison shopping in order to find the car insurance desired at a price that can best fit a budget. Of course, friends and family will often offer their two cents as to which insurer is superior compared to others, and while it is always great to get recommendations from those who can be trusted, not all companies can suit every driver, especially when it comes to price. Probably considered by most to be the most effective way to obtain the lowest rates for an vehicle policy is by comparing quotes from multiple insurers, which can be done easily and conveniently.
Not many government consumer guides will dismiss the importance of shopping around for vehicle coverage and providers and with good reason. The good news for motorists is that as technology continues to make strides towards catering to tech-savvy consumers, more and more companies are offering vehicle insurance quotes online in a quick and efficient manner. Rather than having to call several different offices or agents and having to answer the same set of questions over and again, there are thousands of websites that are now available to provide quotations to visitors with the completion of a brief form; this can prove to be extremely convenient and can take a lot of hassle out of finding an affordable premium.
Finding the cheapest automobile coverage online can be done quite easily and locating and comparing quotes can be done a couple of different way. Consumers can choose to visit websites of individual insurer which may be a bit time consuming or they can take advantage of the service of a comparison website.
Comparison websites provide a valuable service of providing quotes of the many insurers available to issue policies in a given area or state that a consumer can compare from, but as consumers shop and especially before they buy there a few things that they should keep in mind; mainly, enter accurate information to get the most accurate quotes. Info will be asked of the motorist such as year, make and model of vehicles and brief description of a driver’s record and credit (poor, average, good, excellent, etc.). Not answering these questions accurately will only lead to a misquote and possible rate increase at the time of purchase.
Motorists should also realize that in order to complete a transaction they will need to provide personal information over the Web such as driver’s license and social security numbers so they should be very careful who they are handing out these private items to. There are many precautions that consumers can take to ensure that their information is safe and should definitely take to protect themselves.
The Consumer Action Website suggests that consumers make sure that a “lock” icon appears in the address bar and that the URL begins with “https:” rather than just “http” to ensure that information is being transferred securely. Additionally, although the Internet is a great way to find and purchase cheap auto insurance, consumers should check with their state insurance regulators to ensure that the company is legit and licensed, especially if unfamiliar with the insurer.
Dependent on many factors, the cost of finding the cheapest vehicle coverage can be either a walk in the park or an uphill battle. Middle aged female motorists with no tickets or accidents are likely to pay the best rates for vehicle policies than any other type of driver, when solely based on individual characteristics and driving record. Who is Third Party ?

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Escape, 2021-2022 Lincoln Corsair, and 2022 Maverick vehicles equipped with 2.5L HEV or PHEV engines. In the event of an engine failure, engine oil and fuel vapor may be released into the engine compartment and accumulate near ignition sources such as hot engine or exhaust components, possibly resulting in an engine compartment fire. An engine compartment fire increases the risk of injury.
Owners are advised to park and shut off the engine as quickly as possible if they hear unexpected engine noises, notice a reduction in vehicle power, or see smoke. Dealers will modify the under engine shield and active grille shutter, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be sent August 8, 2022.
